Basso Bikes in East London

Italian road and gravel frames, built and fitted in Bow

Basso still builds its frames in Italy, which is rarer than the marketing in this industry suggests. The SV is the flagship that sits between race bike and all-road. The Astra is the fast, comfortable all-road bike most riders end up living with every day. The Venta is the handmade carbon all-rounder at an accessible price, and the Palta III is Basso's gravel bike, with internal frame storage and a choice of cockpit.

More about Basso Bikes

Several builds can be ordered with a Magene power meter crank fitted, and Italian geometry does not always match the number on your last bike, so come and talk sizing with us before you order. Every Basso we sell is built, fitted and safety checked in our own workshop in Bow, East London, by Cytech-qualified mechanics.

Buy in store or online, with the Cycle to Work scheme available across the range, fully built delivery to England and Wales, and paint protection fitted before assembly if you want it. Compare the Palta with our other gravel bikes, or see what else sits in road bikes.

Frequently asked questions

Are Basso frames still made in Italy?

Yes, and it is rarer than the marketing across this industry would suggest. Basso produces its frames in Italy rather than badging a frame made to order elsewhere, which is a large part of why riders choose them over bigger names at the same money.

Astra, Venta or Palta, which Basso should I choose?

The Astra is the fast endurance road bike, the Venta is the all-rounder most riders end up happiest on, and the Palta covers gravel and all-road. If you are torn between the Astra and the Venta, the honest answer usually depends on how much of your riding is genuinely fast and how much is three hours on mixed surfaces.

Will my usual frame size fit a Basso?

Not necessarily. Italian geometry does not always match the number on your last bike, and reach in particular can differ noticeably. Send us your current bike and its size, or come in, and we will check it against the Basso chart before you order rather than after it arrives.

Not sure which one is right for you?

Tell us how far you ride, where you park it and what you need to carry, and we will point you at the right model. We build and safety check every bike in our workshop in Bow before it leaves.
