Terms of service
Last updated: 22 August 2026
These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") govern your use of the Aztecs Bikes website (aztecsbikes.com), the services we provide online, and purchases made in person at our shop in Bow, East London (together, the "Services"). The website, online services and shop are operated by Aztecs Bikes Ltd.
Our online store is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. Any sale or purchase you make in our store is made directly with Aztecs Bikes Ltd.
By accessing or using our website, or by placing an order with us (online or in store), you confirm that you accept these Terms and that you agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, please do not use our website, place an order online, or make a purchase in our shop.
These Terms apply to all users of the website and customers of our shop, including browsers, customers, suppliers and contributors of content.
Please read these Terms carefully. They include important information about your legal rights, and cover areas such as warranty disclaimers and limitations of liability. Nothing in these Terms removes or reduces your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
1. Who we are
Aztecs Bikes Ltd Registered office: 4 Corsican Square, London E3 3XS, United Kingdom Company registration number: 13286458 (England and Wales) VAT registration number: 380797260 Email: hello@aztecsbikes.com Phone: +44 7488 878 612
In these Terms, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Aztecs Bikes Ltd. "You" and "your" refer to the user of the website or customer of our shop.
2. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to our services, the law or our internal policies. The most recent version is always available on this page, with an updated revision date at the top.
If we make significant changes that affect existing customers, we will notify registered customers by email where possible. Continued use of the website after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
3. Use of our website
You may use our website only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Use the website in any way that breaches applicable UK or international law;
- Use the website to engage in fraudulent or harmful activity;
- Interfere with the security, availability or proper functioning of the website;
- Upload or transmit viruses, malware, trojans or any other harmful code;
- Copy, reproduce, resell or commercially exploit any part of the Service without our written permission;
- Access the website using automated scraping tools, bots, data extraction tools or AI tools (including agentic AI) without our written permission.
We reserve the right to suspend or refuse access to the website or our services at our discretion, in particular where misuse or fraud is suspected.
4. Eligibility and ordering
By placing an order on our website or in our shop, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into binding contracts;
- All information you provide to us is accurate, current and complete;
- You are authorised to use the payment method provided at checkout;
- Your purchase is for your own personal or household use, and not for commercial resale or export.
If you create a customer account, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity carried out through your account. You may not transfer, sell or assign your account to another person.
5. Contract formation
When you submit an order on our website, you make an offer to purchase the products selected at the prices stated. Your order is acknowledged when we display an order confirmation page and send you a confirmation email. This acknowledgement does not, by itself, form a contract between us.
A binding contract between you and Aztecs Bikes Ltd is formed only when we send you an email confirming that your order has been accepted and is ready for collection (Click and Collect) or that it has been dispatched (Home Delivery). For in-store purchases, the contract is formed at the point of sale.
We reserve the right to decline any order before that point, including where:
- The product is no longer available or has been mispriced;
- There has been an obvious error in the product description, image or price;
- We are unable to obtain authorisation for your payment;
- We suspect the order is placed for a fraudulent purpose;
- We cannot deliver to the address provided.
If we decline an order after payment has been taken, we will refund the amount paid in full, normally within 10 business days.
6. Products and services
Product availability
Some products may be available exclusively online or exclusively in store, and stock levels may be limited. All products, specifications and prices may change without notice. Photographs are illustrative; colours and product appearance may differ depending on the device and screen settings you use, and we cannot guarantee that the colour shown on your screen exactly matches the actual product.
Right to limit sales
We may limit the quantities sold per customer, per household or per order. We may also refuse or cancel orders that we reasonably suspect are fraudulent.
Pricing
All prices are stated in pounds sterling (GBP) and include UK VAT at the prevailing rate where applicable. Delivery charges are additional and are confirmed at checkout. Prices posted in our online store may differ from prices offered in our shop. Promotions may be governed by their own separate terms, which take precedence over these Terms where they conflict. We are not responsible for typographical, image or system errors that affect product information or pricing; we reserve the right to correct such errors and to cancel affected orders before dispatch.
6.1 Delivery, risk and title
Delivery times quoted on the website are estimates and are not guaranteed.
Where you are a consumer, the goods remain at our risk until they come into your physical possession, or into the physical possession of a person you have identified to take possession of them. This reflects section 29 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Where you arrange your own carrier that we have not offered or recommended, risk passes to you when we hand the goods to that carrier.
Title to the goods passes to you once we have received payment in full.
Full delivery arrangements are set out in our Delivery policy.
6.2 Intellectual property
The Services, including all text, images, graphics, video, audio, product descriptions, customer reviews and the design, selection and arrangement of that content, are owned by Aztecs Bikes Ltd, its affiliates or its licensors, and are protected by UK and international copyright, trade mark and other intellectual property laws.
These Terms permit you to use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use only. You must not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, republish, download, store or transmit any material from the Services without our prior written consent.
Aztecs Bikes names, logos, product and service names, designs and slogans are trade marks of Aztecs Bikes Ltd or its licensors, and may not be used without our prior written permission. Shopify's name, logo, product and service names, designs and slogans are trade marks of Shopify. All other names and marks appearing on the Services belong to their respective owners.
All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.
7. Returns, refunds and warranty
All purchases are subject to our Returns and refunds policy and our Delivery policy, which form part of these Terms. The policy includes:
- Your statutory 14-day right to cancel for online purchases (the cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013);
- A 28-day total return window for eligible online orders (14 statutory days plus an additional 14 days of goodwill);
- Items that cannot be returned (custom-built bikes, unsealed helmets, perishable goods, certain clothing items and gift cards);
- Workshop labour warranty, parts warranty, and the position on customer-supplied parts.
The full policy is available at aztecsbikes.com/policies/refund-policy. Please review it before placing your order.
7A. Cycle to Work scheme purchases
We accept purchases made through Cycle to Work schemes, including Green Commute Initiative (GCI) and Cyclescheme. Purchases made through these schemes are subject to the following specific terms:
- Vouchers and certificates issued by Cycle to Work scheme providers are non-refundable and non-transferable once redeemed against an order;
- Once a voucher is redeemed and goods are collected or dispatched, the order cannot be cancelled or refunded directly by us. Any cancellation, hire agreement changes or end-of-hire arrangements must be handled through your scheme provider and your employer, in accordance with their terms;
- Faulty or damaged goods purchased through a Cycle to Work scheme remain covered by your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and by the manufacturer warranty. We will repair, replace or arrange resolution of faulty goods in the same way as for any other customer;
- If your voucher value exceeds the order total, the balance is forfeited unless the scheme provider explicitly allows a top-up or partial use, in line with their rules;
- All Cycle to Work purchases are also subject to the terms and conditions of your scheme provider, which take precedence over our standard returns policy in respect of the hire agreement and any end-of-hire arrangements.
7B. Custom-built bikes and non-refundable deposits
Where a bike is built or ordered to your specification, with the frame, components, sizing and finish configured specifically for you, the following terms apply to that order (referred to below as a custom build):
- A deposit is payable at the time of order to confirm your custom build and to allow us to place the order with the manufacturer. The deposit amount is confirmed in writing before payment is taken;
- Deposits for custom builds are non-refundable once your build has been confirmed and the order has been placed with the manufacturer. This is because custom-built bikes are made to your specification and cannot reasonably be resold to another customer;
- Custom-built bikes are exempt from the 14-day cooling-off period under regulation 28 of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, which excludes goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised;
- Custom-built bikes cannot be returned or exchanged for change of mind, sizing preference or component selection once the build is confirmed and the order placed;
- If a custom-built bike is faulty, damaged in transit or incorrectly specified due to our error, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the relevant manufacturer warranty apply. We will work with you and the manufacturer to repair, replace or, where appropriate, refund the bike;
- Lead times for custom builds are estimates provided by the manufacturer and are not guaranteed. We will keep you informed of any material delays. Delays alone do not give rise to a right of cancellation or refund of the deposit, unless the delay is unreasonable in light of the original estimate.
8. Payment
Payment is taken at the point of order. We accept the following payment methods through our payment partners:
- Major debit and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, Maestro);
- Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay;
- Klarna and PayPal, where available at checkout;
- Other methods displayed at checkout.
Online card payments are processed by Shopify Payments, whose card processing infrastructure is provided by Stripe. In-store card payments are processed by Dojo. We do not store your full card details on our systems.
You confirm that the payment details you provide are true, correct and complete, that you are authorised to use the payment method, and that you will pay the amounts due at the prices posted, including delivery charges and applicable taxes.
9. Accuracy of billing and account information
You agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete and current billing information;
- Promptly update your account details when they change;
- Keep your account login details confidential.
If your billing or delivery information is incorrect, this may delay processing of your order or prevent us from fulfilling it.
10. Third-party services and links
Our website integrates with, or links to, third-party tools and services, including:
- Shopify (e-commerce platform, hosting and checkout);
- Shopify Payments (online card payment processing, card infrastructure provided by Stripe, including Klarna, PayPal and Shop Pay where offered at checkout);
- Dojo (in-store card payment processing);
- Google Analytics and Google reCAPTCHA;
- Royal Mail Click and Drop and Cycle Courier Co (delivery);
- Social media integrations (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn);
- Bikebook (booking).
These services are provided by third parties and are subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control these services. We are not responsible for the content of third-party websites, for any losses caused by third-party interactions, or for the privacy practices of external sites. Please review the third party's terms and policies before using their services.
Where optional third-party tools are made available through the Services, they are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty or endorsement, and your use of them is at your own risk.
10A. Relationship with Shopify
Aztecs Bikes is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. However, any sales and purchases you make in our store are made directly with Aztecs Bikes Ltd. By using the Services, you acknowledge and agree that Shopify is not responsible for any aspect of any sale between you and Aztecs Bikes Ltd, including any injury, damage or loss resulting from the products and services purchased. You expressly release Shopify and its affiliates from all claims, damages and liabilities arising from or related to your purchases and transactions with Aztecs Bikes Ltd.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights against us as a consumer under UK law.
11. User content (reviews, comments, submissions)
If you submit content to us, for example a review, photograph, comment, suggestion or other feedback:
- You grant us a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable right to use, edit, reproduce, publish and distribute it in connection with our business, including for commercial and promotional purposes;
- You confirm that the content is your own and does not infringe the rights of any third party;
- You confirm that you have disclosed any payment or incentive you received in connection with your submission;
- You agree not to submit unlawful, defamatory, offensive, harmful or misleading content;
- You agree not to use a false email address or misrepresent who you are.
We are under no obligation to keep your submission confidential, to pay for it, or to respond to it. We reserve the right (but are not obliged) to remove any content we consider inappropriate, at any time and without notice.
12. Personal information
Your submission of personal data through the website is governed by our Privacy and Cookie Policy, available at aztecsbikes.com/policies/privacy-policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Because our store is hosted by Shopify, certain personal information is also subject to Shopify's own privacy policy. Section 7A of our Privacy and Cookie Policy explains this in detail.
13. Errors, inaccuracies and omissions
Our website may occasionally contain errors or omissions relating to pricing, product descriptions, stock availability, shipping times, promotions or offers. We reserve the right to correct any such errors and to update or cancel orders if any information is found to be inaccurate, including after an order has been placed.
14. Prohibited uses
In addition to the restrictions listed above, you may not use the website:
- To solicit or encourage others to break the law;
- To harass, abuse, intimidate or discriminate against any person, including our staff;
- To infringe intellectual property or other proprietary rights;
- To distribute malware, ransomware or any malicious code;
- To collect, track or extract the personal data of other users without their consent;
- To send spam, phishing or other unsolicited communications;
- To reproduce, duplicate, copy, extract, sell or resell any portion of the Services;
- To bypass or attempt to bypass any security or authentication measure, robot exclusion header or other access restriction.
Any breach of this section may result in immediate termination of your access to the website and may be reported to the relevant authorities.
14A. Automated agents
This section applies if you use, enable or cause the deployment of an Agent to access or interact with the Services. "Agent" means any software or service that takes autonomous or semi-autonomous action on behalf of, or at the instruction of, a person or entity, and that can run without direct supervision.
An Agent may access or interact with the Services only if it identifies itself and complies at all times with the requirements below, and only if we have not asked it to stop. We may limit, including by technical means, whether and how any Agent accesses the Services.
Agents must:
- Identify themselves in every HTTP or HTTPS request by including "Agent/[agent name]" in the user agent string;
- Not conceal that the access is automated, including by mimicking human interaction patterns or by completing or circumventing CAPTCHAs or other measures designed to distinguish humans from software;
- Answer truthfully any prompt seeking to establish whether the interaction comes from a human or from software;
- Not circumvent or evade any measure intended to block, limit or control automated access to the Services.
15. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that:
- The website will be available continuously or without interruption;
- The website will always be free from errors, viruses or vulnerabilities;
- Product descriptions or other content on the website will always be free from inaccuracies.
Except where expressly stated, the website and its content are provided "as is" and "as available". Any reliance you place on general information published on the website is at your own risk.
This section does not affect your statutory rights in relation to the products you purchase from us, which are set out in the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and summarised in our Returns and refunds policy.
16. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aztecs Bikes Ltd shall not be liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential losses;
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, sales, savings or business opportunity;
- Damages arising from your misuse of products purchased from us;
- Damages caused by errors, inaccuracies or omissions in the website.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where this cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under English law, including (but not limited to) liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of the terms implied by the Consumer Rights Act 2015, or for any other breach of your statutory rights as a consumer.
17. Indemnification
If you use the Services for business purposes, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Aztecs Bikes Ltd, its directors, employees, suppliers and partners against any claim, loss, liability or expense (including reasonable legal costs) arising from:
- Your breach of these Terms;
- Your misuse of the website or our services;
- Your violation of any law or third-party right.
This section does not apply to you where you deal with us as a consumer.
17A. Assignment
You may not transfer or assign these Terms, or any of your rights or obligations under them, without our prior written consent. We may transfer or assign these Terms, and our rights and obligations under them, to another organisation, provided this does not reduce the rights you have under them.
18. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found by a court to be unlawful, void or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
19. Termination
These Terms remain in effect until terminated by either party. We may terminate or suspend your access to the website immediately, without notice, if we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms or that misuse or fraud has occurred. You remain responsible for any orders placed and any amounts owed up to the date of termination.
The following sections survive termination: Intellectual property, User content, Termination, Disclaimer of warranties, Limitation of liability, Indemnification, Severability, Entire agreement, Assignment, Governing law, and Personal information.
20. Complaints and dispute resolution
If you have a complaint or concern, please contact us first at hello@aztecsbikes.com. We aim to respond to all complaints within 5 business days. If we cannot resolve the matter informally, you may also contact your local Trading Standards office or the Citizens Advice consumer helpline at citizensadvice.org.uk.
21. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy and Cookie Policy, our Returns and refunds policy and our Delivery policy, form the entire agreement between you and Aztecs Bikes Ltd in relation to your use of the website and the Service. They supersede any prior agreements or understandings between us.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. Headings are included for convenience only and do not affect the interpretation of these Terms.
22. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of, or in connection with, them or their subject matter or formation are governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any such dispute or claim.
If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country in which you live.
