Accident support for London cyclists
Cycling Accident Support in East London
Free damage assessment, a full written report and specialist cycling solicitors through our partner CAMS. Nothing to pay up front, and no obligation.
Hit while riding? Start here.
Being knocked off is disorientating, and the days afterwards are usually when riders lose money. Insurers move quickly, damaged parts get missed, and people accept the first figure they are offered because they need their bike back.
We do the opposite. Bring the bike in exactly as it is and our mechanics document everything, from the obvious frame damage to the hanger, the wheel and the helmet you might not think to mention.
Through our partnership with CAMS you also get access to solicitors who work on cycling collisions specifically, with repairs and replacement kit covered from the start so you are never funding the claim out of your own pocket.
What our accident support gives you
Three things matter after a collision: getting your bike assessed honestly, not paying for it yourself, and having someone in your corner who understands cycling claims.

Nothing to pay up front
Repairs, a replacement helmet and damaged kit are covered from the start, so you are not out of pocket while a claim runs.

Specialist cycling solicitors
Through our partner CAMS you get lawyers who deal with cycling collisions every week, not general personal injury.

The full picture, documented
We photograph and cost every damaged component properly, so nothing quietly disappears from the settlement.
What to do after an accident
The first hours matter most. Follow these steps and you protect both your health and your claim, whatever you decide to do afterwards.
Get yourself checked first
Call 999 if anyone is hurt. Report the collision to the police and see a doctor even if you feel fine, because a record matters later.
Bring us the bike
Do not throw anything away, including the helmet. Bring the bike to the workshop exactly as it is, one minute from Devons Road DLR.
Free damage assessment
Our Cytech 2 mechanics inspect the frame, forks, wheels and components and write a full report with photographs.
We connect you to CAMS
If you want legal support, we introduce you to the cycling specialists at CAMS. No obligation, and no fee to speak to them.
Repaired or replaced
We put the bike back to how it was, or document that it is beyond safe repair so a replacement is properly valued.
Getting you the full value, not the quick figure
Most settlement offers are built from a quick glance and a rough guess. A carbon fork with a hairline crack, a wheel with a flat spot, a bent mech hanger and a cracked helmet all add up, and all of them get missed regularly.
Our report itemises every component with photographs and current replacement prices, which gives your solicitor or insurer something concrete to work from.
We also tell you plainly when a bike is beyond safe repair. Riding a compromised frame to save an insurer money is not a trade we are willing to make on your behalf.
What the assessment covers
Bring the bike in as it is, along with your helmet and anything else that was damaged.
- Frame and fork inspection, including carbon damage
- Wheel, hub and spoke assessment
- Drivetrain, brake and hanger alignment checks
- Photographic evidence of every damaged part
- Itemised written repair or replacement costing
- Helmet replacement, as a helmet is single use after impact
- Damaged clothing, shoes, lights and computers listed
- Introduction to specialist cycling solicitors
Accident questions, answered
General guidance from a workshop that sees this every month. It is not legal advice, and CAMS or your own solicitor will confirm the detail of your case.
What should I do straight after a collision?
Safety first. Call 999 if anyone is injured, and report the incident to the police so you have a reference number. Take photographs of the scene, the vehicle, the registration and your bike before anything is moved, and get contact details for the driver and any witnesses.
Then see a doctor, even if you feel fine. Adrenaline hides a lot, and a medical record from the day is far more useful than one from a fortnight later.
Does the damage assessment cost anything?
No. Bringing your bike in after an accident for inspection and a written report costs nothing. We would rather you got the bike looked at properly than rode something with a cracked fork. Book it in through our East London workshop.
Who are CAMS?
CAMS are our accident management partner. They work specifically with cyclists, arrange the legal side of a claim, and cover the cost of repairs and replacement kit up front so you are not funding the process yourself while it is ongoing.
Do I have to make a legal claim to use the workshop?
Not at all. Plenty of riders just want the bike checked and fixed. The introduction to CAMS is there if you want it, and there is no pressure either way.
My helmet looks fine. Do I really need a new one?
Yes. A helmet is designed to absorb one impact by crushing internally, and that damage is often invisible from the outside. Always replace a helmet that has been in a crash, and keep the old one as evidence.
Can carbon frames be repaired after a crash?
Sometimes, and sometimes not. Carbon can hide structural damage under intact paint, so we inspect it carefully rather than guessing. If it is not safe to ride we say so in writing, which also supports a replacement claim. Wheels get the same scrutiny, and where a rim or the spokes are damaged we quote a hand built rebuild.
How long do I have to bring a claim?
In England and Wales the general limit for personal injury is three years from the date of the accident, with different rules for under 18s. That said, evidence fades fast, so the sooner you start the stronger your position. We are not solicitors, so take formal advice from CAMS or your own lawyer.
What if the driver did not stop?
Report it to the police and get a reference number. Claims involving untraced or uninsured drivers can still go ahead through the Motor Insurers' Bureau, and CAMS handle that process regularly.
Will using you affect my Laka or home insurance claim?
No. A detailed workshop report helps any insurer settle accurately. If you are insured through Laka, our costing gives them exactly what they need.
Can I get a bike to ride in the meantime?
Talk to us. Depending on the claim and the timings, replacement transport can sometimes be arranged as part of the process, and we will always tell you honestly what is realistic.
