Frequently asked questions

The questions we get asked most before people come in.

Do I need a booking for a puncture?

No, just pop in. A standard puncture usually takes 10 to 15 minutes and we normally sort it the same day. E-bikes and enclosed chain guards take longer, so it is worth calling first. Everything else the workshop handles is listed on our bike repair page.

Do I need an appointment for a repair or service?

Walk-ins are welcome, but we strongly recommend booking. It lets us set aside the bench time and order in any parts your bike needs, so the job is done properly and quickly. You can book online here.

How long does a service take?

The free check-up is normally done within 24 to 48 hours, and you get a written report with a clear quote. After you approve it, simple jobs are often finished the same day and complex repairs can take up to two weeks, depending on parts.

Can you deliver a bike to my door?

Yes, anywhere in England and Wales. The bike is built, safety checked and road tested by our mechanics, then carried upright on a padded rack in a specialist bike van. It arrives unboxed and ready to ride, with nothing for you to assemble. See our bike delivery page.

How much is bike delivery?

A fixed price by bike type, added at checkout: 79 GBP for road, gravel, hybrid and mountain bikes, 55 GBP for kids, BMX and folding bikes, 99 GBP for electric bikes under 25 kg, 129 GBP for electric bikes over 25 kg, and 55 GBP for framesets and wheels. Parts and accessories are separate and much cheaper. The full detail sits on our bike delivery page.

Can I collect my order from the shop?

Yes, and it is free wherever you are. Choose collection at checkout and we email you when your order is ready. Bikes take a little longer because we build and check them first. We email you as soon as yours is ready. Scotland, Northern Ireland and the islands are collection only for bikes at the moment. Collection is from the shop in Bow.

Can you help me choose the right accessories?

That is what we are here for. Performance upgrades, practical kit or something that just looks good, we will walk you through the options and find the right fit for your bike and your riding. Have a look through our accessories and components before you come in.

I am new to cycling and not sure which bike suits me. Can you advise?

Of course. The bike world is a minefield when you are starting out. Tell us how you ride, where you ride and your budget, and we will recommend the right type and size so the bike is comfortable from day one. You can browse all our bikes first.

Can I see a bike before I buy it?

Yes. Most of the bikes we sell can be seen in the shop, and if one is not in Bow on the day, message us and we will tell you when it will be. You can browse the full range on our bikes page before you come in.

Do you take Cycle to Work vouchers?

Yes. We are a registered retailer with Cyclescheme, Green Commute Initiative, Gogeta and Halfords Cycle2Work. Vouchers cover bikes and parts but not labour. See our Cycle to Work page for the detail, and our guide to who owns the bike at the end for the question we get asked most.
