Which Tenways model should I choose?

It comes down to distance and how much you want to think about maintenance. The single speed belt drive models are the lightest and the least fuss for a short city commute, while the geared models make more sense once the ride gets longer or hillier. Our Tenways buyer's guide reviews all seven models honestly, including the ones we would not recommend for every rider.

Is a belt drive better than a chain?

For city riding, usually yes. A carbon belt does not need oiling, does not mark your trousers and lasts far longer than a chain in wet weather. The trade off is that it needs a frame designed for it and gearing is more limited, so it suits commuting better than hilly touring.

How far will a Tenways go on one charge?

Manufacturer figures assume flat ground, low assistance and a light rider. In real London use, plan on roughly 60 to 75 percent of the quoted number, which still covers a week of most commutes on one charge. Cold weather takes more out of it, so expect less in January than in June.

Can you service and repair a Tenways in the shop?

Yes. We assemble, torque and safety check every Tenways we sell in Bow, and we service and repair them here too, including battery and motor diagnostics. Buying from a shop that can actually fix the bike matters more with an e-bike than with anything else.
