More about Accessories

Where to spend first. A decent lock and a rear light with a steady mode are the two purchases that change the most in London. Sold Secure Gold is the minimum most insurers accept, Laka included, and a lock that costs less than the excess is not saving you anything.

Mudguards are the upgrade people regret not buying in November. If your frame has no mounts, ask us, there is almost always a way. We fit racks, child seats and dynamo lighting too, and we will tell you when a part does not suit your frame before you order rather than after.

Browse the rest of the range in parts and accessories, or book the workshop and have it all fitted in one visit.

Frequently asked questions

What lock do I need in London?

Sold Secure Gold is the minimum most insurers will accept, Laka included, and a lock that costs less than your excess is not really protecting anything. Two different lock types beat one expensive one, because thieves carry the tool for a specific job. Lock through the frame and a wheel, to something immovable.

Can you fit mudguards to my bike?

Almost always, even on frames with no mounts, and it is the upgrade people most regret skipping in November. Bring the bike in and we will tell you which guards clear your tyres before you buy anything. We fit racks, child seats and dynamo lighting too.

What lights do I need to ride legally at night in the UK?

A white light at the front and a red one at the rear, plus a red rear reflector and amber pedal reflectors. In practice, get a rear light with a steady mode as well as a flashing one, because a flashing light alone makes you harder to judge distance from in traffic.

Not sure which one is right for you?

Tell us how far you ride, where you park it and what you need to carry, and we will point you at the right model. We build and safety check every bike in our workshop in Bow before it leaves.
